  1. One of the best places to spot planes at east midlands is the custom built Aeropark that not only is a great place to spot planes but an aviation museum as well. The museum has many interesting aircraft including the legendary Vulcan bomber and a Nimrod. The Aeropark is open between April and October 2019 at the following times: Thursday: 11.00 – 16.00. Saturday: 12.00 – 17.00 head for Hill Top, Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2PR. 
  2. A great place to spot planes on approach and landing is the crash gate at the end of runway 27 this area is home to a plane spotting and picnic area and is a great day out for all aviation enthusiasts. Head for  Head for Ashby Road postcode DE74 2DJ.
  3. Most of the spotters at east midlands congregate at the crash gate overlooking the main runway. It is a great place to take photos of both arriving and departing aircraft. Head for Diseworth Road, postcode DE74 2PS. 

Birmingham Airport (BHX) (EBGG)

  1. At Birmingham the airport provides an official plane spotting area this is located near the long stay car park. 
  2. Towards the northern end of Birmingham there is a great plane spotting and photography area. The easiest way to access this area is from Hazeldene Road (postcode B33 0QB)
  3. Elmdon multi-storey car park provides great views of planes landing, taking off and taxiing. Head for Terminal Rd, Birmingham B26 3QT.
